<Point To Point (P2P) is a basic network topology. This network architecture connects Site A to Site B. If there are multiple sites, the Network Administrator will be required to setup complex routes between Sites that are not directly connected. In general, the configuration of this type of network can require a lot of overhead espectially if the business is growning and changing/adding sites frequently. This network is used for multi-site configurations and not required for a business with a single site. Other options for Multi-site include Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Virtual Private Network (VPN), Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS), Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) as well as other options.
